Job Description

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Coach – Junior Varsity Boys Soccer.

The Assistant Coach – Junior Varsity Boys Soccer will assist the Head Coach in providing leadership for the junior varsity boys soccer program by fostering a positive, supportive, and student-centered environment. The successful candidate will help develop student-athletes' skills, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, ensure student safety, and support all aspects of the program while maintaining compliance with District policies and applicable interscholastic athletic regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in organizing and supervising team practices and competitions.
• Teach the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of soccer while promoting skill development.
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.
• Support the development of student-athletes and prepare them for advancement within the program.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, the Head Coach, and the Athletic Department.
• Follow all District, Section XI, and New York State interscholastic athletic rules and regulations.
• Perform other coaching-related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the sport of soccer.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Previous coaching or playing experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment.
• Current Southampton UFSD employees preferred.
