Job Description

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking a qualified Home Instruction Tutor to provide instructional support to a student from Southampton Intermediate School during the school year. 

• Deliver personalized, 1-on-1 instruction aligned with the student's learning style, strengths, and goals.

• Implement strategies from Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or customized learning plans.

• Support core academic subjects (e.g., Reading, Writing, Math) while reinforcing foundational executive functioning skills (organization, time management, focus).

• Utilize multi-sensory and specialized teaching strategies (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Visual Schedules, Applied Behavior Analysis principles) as appropriate.

• Track academic and behavioral progress, adjusting lesson plans and interventions as needed.

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress, challenges, and milestones.
