Job Description

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Permanent Substitute Teacher to support students in Grades 5–8 for the school year.

Position: Annual Appointment
Start Date: September 8, 2026
End Date: June 25, 2027
Compensation: $220.50 per day

The Permanent Substitute Teacher will provide classroom coverage as needed and support students throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage as assigned.
• Follow teacher lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and productive learning environment.
• Support students academically and behaviorally throughout the school day.
• Follow building procedures and expectations.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and administration.

Requirements

• New York State Teacher Certification
• Flexible, reliable, and dependable.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Ability to work effectively with students in Grades 5–8.
