Job Description

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking a qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to serve as a Leave Replacement at Southampton Elementary School.

The BCBA will work closely with students, teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs while ensuring the implementation of evidence-based practices in accordance with students' IEPs.

Assignment Period: September 2, 2026 – November 20, 2026
Salary: In accordance with the Southampton Teachers Association (STA) Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and consultative IEP-mandated behavioral services to students across elementary grade levels.

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

  • Design and implement proactive, positive behavior support strategies that promote student success in the classroom and school environment.

  • Respond to and assist with behavioral crises and de-escalation, utilizing evidence-based crisis prevention and intervention techniques.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to evaluate student progress and guide instructional and behavioral decision-making.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and administrators to ensure consistent implementation of behavioral interventions.

  • Support the development of social skills, self-regulation, communication, and adaptive behaviors across school settings.

Job Qualifications
  • Special Education Teacher Certification (Preferred) 
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Appropriate state certification/licensure, as required.
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavior assessment, and positive behavior support practices.
  • Experience developing FBAs, BIPs, and collecting/analyzing behavioral data.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of proactive and positive behavioral supports and systems.
